License and activation#
The model#
Maystro is sold as a yearly subscription for one machine, with a perpetual fallback: the last version you installed keeps working after the subscription ends. What ends is updates and new model support.
Activation and the token#
Activation binds your license key to a fingerprint of the machine and stores a signed entitlement token in the install folder. The token is what the app and the package index check; the raw key is not kept on disk.
| Situation | What happens |
|---|---|
| Normal use | The token is validated locally on every start. No connection needed. |
| Online, token nearing expiry | Renewed silently in the background, about weekly. |
| Offline for a long time | The app keeps working through a grace period measured in weeks; then it asks for one online check. |
| Subscription ended | Updates stop; the installed version keeps working. |
| License revoked (refund, chargeback) | Takes effect at the next renewal check, within a month. |
Machines#
One machine per license. A hardware upgrade that changes the fingerprint (new motherboard, new system drive) counts as a new machine. Deactivate the old machine from your account page, then activate on the new one with the same key. If the old machine is gone, write to support@maystro.ai with your key.
What leaves the machine#
Only activation and renewal requests (license key or token plus the machine fingerprint), update checks against the package index, and model downloads. Prompts, images, videos and datasets never leave the machine.
