Activate your license#

Your license key ties Maystro to one machine. Activation happens once, during the Activation step of the launcher, and needs an internet connection.

What happens when you activate#

  1. The launcher sends your license key and a fingerprint of this machine to the Maystro activation server.
  2. The server binds the license to the machine and returns a signed entitlement token.
  3. The token is stored in your install folder. It unlocks the app and the private package index that serves Maystro updates.

The raw license key is not kept on disk.

Working offline#

The app validates the token locally on every start, so day-to-day use does not need a connection. In the background the token is renewed silently about once a week when you are online. Without a connection Maystro keeps working for a grace period measured in weeks; after that it asks you to go online once.

Moving to a new machine#

One machine per license. To move, deactivate the old machine from your account page and activate on the new one with the same key. If the old machine is gone, write to support@maystro.ai.
