Your first video#

Video Studio works like a storyboard: a project holds scenes, a scene holds shoots, and every generation attempt of a shoot is a take. This walkthrough makes one short take.

  1. Open Video Studio and create a project.
  2. Add a scene. Give it a name; a scene groups shoots that share a setting and, later, a character set.
  3. Add a shoot. Choose a preset: start with a short LTX preset (a few seconds, audio and video together) so you see results quickly. Presets are described in Presets.
  4. Pick a reference image for the shoot. For image-to-video presets the aspect ratio of the reference must match the output aspect ratio of the preset; otherwise the image is silently cropped and the prompt is followed poorly. See Reference images and voices.
  5. Write the prompt. Describe the shot, the motion and, if there is speech, put the spoken line in quotes. Prompting has the rules that matter most.
  6. Click Generate. A take is created and the Vireo runtime renders it; the take card shows progress. The first take after a start is slower because the model pack is loaded.
  7. When the take is complete, play it from the card. Not happy with it? Keep the prompt and generate another take with a new seed, or adjust the prompt.

Takes are rendered by the backend, so you can leave the studio and come back. Generate all shoots in the scene settings chains the shoots automatically, feeding the last frame of one shoot into the next. See Projects, scenes, shoots and takes.
