Models

Maystro generates with open-weight models that are downloaded to your machine. Model weights come under their own licenses; the app ships the code, you decide which weights to use.

The starter set

During installation Maystro fetches a curated starter set: image models for Image Studio, the video model packs for Video Studio, and the encoders they depend on. The download is large (tens of gigabytes) and runs in the background; you can start using a studio as soon as the models it needs have arrived.

Open the Models tab in Image Studio to see what is installed, what each preset needs, and what is still missing. Each preset lists its model slots with a per-slot file report, so a missing file is visible before you queue a job.

Where model files live

All model files live under a single models root, chosen at install time. You can point the root somewhere else later (a bigger drive, a shared folder) and add extra roots for your own checkpoints. See Models root and your own models.

Adding your own models

Drop checkpoints and LoRAs into the matching folder under a models root, or import them from the Models tab. Assign them to preset slots to build your own presets; see Models and presets.
